Elected vendors committee
The upgrading of the popular Taifa Market could only be done in close cooperation with the vendors and their committee. The vendors had to build back the frontsides of their shops before construction started in order to provide a minimum footpath of 2,5 meter between the shops. Only then the contractor paved the footpaths and open areas. The works were done in phases to avoid shutting down the whole market during construction.
