| Improvement of housing for the poor Upgrading of unplanned traditional housing areas is a challenge for Mzuzu City Assembly who must provide adequate living conditions for its fast growing population. SCDP has supported the city to upgrade five unplanned housing areas comprising 250 ha coverage, giving home to more than 32,000 people (25% of the entire population). Road access, drains, communal water points and 3900 title deeds have substantially improved the housing situation of the urban poor. |
